Long Lasting Glow In The Dark Material

A. Principle

  Glow in the dark pigments absorb and store energy when exposed to light, and gradually releasing the phosphorescence in the dark. They’re high-temperature sintered inorganic powders, and exhibit excellent reversible light absorption and glow effects. Light absorption includes lamps, sunlight, UV lights, etc.

D. Notice:

1. The density of glow in the dark pigment is 3.6g/cm3, it tends to precipitate easily. Therefore, ink and paint should be stirred equally before using. Besides, adding anti-settling agents or using high-viscosity resins can reduce the precipitation.

2. It’s recommended to use neutral or slightly alkaline transparent resins. White or reflective printing background is ideal, as it can enhance the glowing brightness and time.

3. Long-lasting glow in the dark pigments should avoid to contact with water or moisture during processing, it will cause oxidation-reduction that can damage the pigments’ glowing function. In water-based applications, please choose microencapsulated type.

4. Glow in the dark pigments should avoid direct friction with metal. In plastic injection applications, it’s recommended to add Paraffin oil, lubricants, or additives to reduce the shear force between pigments and metal walls, prevent the surface of product from appearing gray.

5. It’s advisable to use transparent, light, or fluorescent color plastic pellet to enhance the glowing brightness and time.
